Mandolin Group

I have a BA in music from Hampshire College and a certificate in violin from the New England Conservatory of Music. I opened my studio in 1986.  I offer a mandolin group class to all ages and all levels of experience. It meets Monday nights at my studio in South Hadley, MA (a couple miles south of Mt Holyoke).

We are learning all sorts of cool things about the mandolin and playing a variety of different styles including classical, baroque and romantic; bluegrass, celtic and folk music.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the group:

  • When does it meet?: the group meets Monday nights 6-7:30 pm
  • Where does it meet?: the address is 56 Lincoln Ave South Hadley MA 01075
  • What is the Cost?: the cost $22.50 per class, paid in 4 week installments of $90 each
  • Who can join?: anybody that wishes to learn mandolin. 
  • I can't read music: that's ok, we'll teach you
  • I don't have a mandolin: rent one at DownTown Sounds in Northampton for $15 a month

I have created a Facebook Group for the South Hadley Mandolin Group Class.  If you have a Facebook account, it's easy to request membership.  If you're a student, membership is free!

We use the Facebook group to talk about the group classes, review them and upload and share any recordings, pictures or other information that the members of the group will find helpful during the week.  It's also a great place to ask questions and help each other out.

Booking, Marketing & Counseling for Musicians

I opened my band management services in 1998, offering booking, marketing and counseling for musicians.  Since then, I have worked with the Old Blind Dogs (from Scotland), Sliabh Notes (from Ireland), The Bounty (Cape Breton), Persephone's Child (Binghamton) and many others. 

If you would like me to book your band, send me an email with links to your ReverbNation or Myspace pages, Youtube channel, Facebook pages or other pages where I can see pictures of you and hear your stuff.  I work on a verbal handshake agreement.  You only pay me for gigs I get you.  If you don't get paid, I don't get paid. 

I offer online PR and Marketing services.  If you don't have those pages I mentioned set up, for a small fee, I can do that for you.  I will set up your Facebook, ReverbNation, GigSalad, GigMasters, Myspace, and Youtube pages.

Many bands just getting started have no clue about how to go about the business of  running a band.  I also offer Counseling services to bands that need a little TLC.
